About the Author Thomas R. Baechle, EdD, CSCS,*D; NSCA-CPT,*D, is the executive director of the National Strength exercise fitness training and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certification Commission. In 1985 he was named the NSCA’s Strength exercise fitness training and Conditioning Professional of the Year.
